snow crash

I read a book. I mean the entire thing start to finish unlike most folk do. It was called Snow Crash. Word on the street is I should have read it aeons ago, but I'm slow at times. Well, I read it. I know Neal Stephenson won't read this blog but I will say just in case he Googles, and I have rank... nice work sir!

I can't help wonder if one of the fake "cool guy" producers of the hit TV show Heroes read this book and went to work the next day telling all his work friends he had this idea for a character that will make the show a hit? Kind of a blatant rip-off of Hiro Protagonist if you ask me... But not as cool. Cuter and more comedic, but not half a billionth as cool. Hollywood fools me yet again. Shame -_-;

I probably should be sleeping now. Snow is, mainly because he has the flu and wasn't raiding tonight. Poor angel. I fixed him some Lemsip and tucked him in and now I sit here unable to sleep myself. If only I was lucky enough to have an office plague like him. /sigh

My brain is virtually swimming with shockingly repellent crap at the moment. Elegant isn't it? Yeah I know, my writing style is so classy at times even I'm surprised. I rock the online thesaurus at 4am. Shouldn't everyone from time to time?

My amazing cousin is in the hospital, my family is kind of in shambles, I can't find a corn on the cob in this country that actually has a husk and is worth eating. As pretentious as the UK is... oh c'mon, you are. I'll start again, as pretentious as the UK is with everything... I miss the US. I miss my family. I miss corn on cob.... like I can walk 20 minutes from my Mom's house and PICK some to cook on the grill. I miss my Mom -_-; I miss the fake freedom of speech everyone thinks they have and might win in court if they try hard. I miss the laws that say, hey.... someone messes with you, you have the right to break their face and get an honor after.

The US has a semi bad rep at the moment... but I miss it. If you grew up there, you'd miss it too. I used to stand out on the curb of my house selling lemonade with my own personal American dream to raise money to be able to walk to the store and by comics and ice cream, and I did it. I have my entry printed in Heathcliff comics from when I was 12 years old to prove it. It's at my Dad's house and I will scan it! He was such a naughty kitty. Heathcliff, not my Dad.

We're going home in less than a month. I'm feeling nostalgic. I'm trying to delegate a plan to visit Hershey Park whilst there. It's the sweetest place on Earth if you didn't know. It's also one of my favs :D

I took snow to Chocolate World when he visited me in the US ages ago during our "courting phase" *giggles for remembrance of snow's first fish-tailing in my Saturn (god rest her red SC2 3-door-sporty soul)*... it was winter and snowing and no roller coasters run at that time, so he kind of got the shit end of that stick.

I want to make it right and see him scream properly on a coaster that he feels will be the end of him. You haven't really lived until you've done that in my book.

So USA here I come, and I miss you. You make cheeseburgers that taste good. And you hold a special place in my heart.

Madsen was right to name his tour of the US "one love" which he stole from me, but he's my super friend so I'll allow it ;)

One love,
/naku
