So much to do... so lacking a time machine

Well, tomorrow snow and I leave for the US to try and obtain my visa thingie so I can stay and live happily with the sheep for many moons to come. I'm extremely excited to see my family and drink Dunkin' Donuts coffee once again! That's really my only complaint about this place... they really don't have the coffee thing down.

Applying for the visa was a huge mountain of paperwork and second guessing myself. I'm so nervous about it, but I'm feeling like everything will work out. So, any one out there that can spare a few fingers and toes to cross for luck would be greatly appreciated ^_^;

I demanded (in a nice sisterly way of course) for my sister to make a pumpkin pie since snow has never had it (Twilight Zone, remember?) and no pumpkin pie materials are available here on the island. I'm going to try and smuggle some tins of pumpkin back in upon entry. If I go through all this visa stuff with flying colors and then get busted with cans of pie filling... well, let's just say the UK will be getting a nice voodoo curse on them! I guess I should study up on voodoo today after packing.

Also, I went to the "hip" hair stylist here last week and asked the girlie to make it red, or something fun. With out consulting me, showing me a swatch or asking my opinion.. she started painting the color on. After reading two horrible gossip magazines and a hair washing... I sit in the chair for my hair cut and my jaw dropped. Have you ever seen a magenta toner cartridge for a CMYK printer/copier? It looks exactly like this.... RATHER... WTF MY HAIR LOOKS LIKE THIS!?

Needless to say, I'm not thrilled with my easter egg hair do, so I called to have her fix it. I'm getting too old to look like a Saturday morning cartoon... Not to say that I don't want funky hair, just not punk rock PINK hair. Yesterday was my appointment for the redo. I hopped on the bus all the way to Douglas (where the not so hip anymore hair stylist is) which is a 45 minute ride.

I get off the bus, walk toward the salon and my phone rings. It's the stylist orc. She says she got stung by a Wasp on her finger and she's not going to be able to fix my hair today. I was going to ask why a rich Protestant would bite her... Perhaps she dyed her hair green or something. However, I think she was referring to a bug. So there I am, stuck in Douglas with ugly pink hair and fire in my belly. They said to come back tomorrow... but I'm sure the chick will get assaulted by a polar bear today while out smoking her ciggie. What a load of horse poo Wang.

So, not only do I have to pack bags for snow and myself with enough crap for a week (no I don't trust him to pack his own case... it would have like hard drives and Perplex City cards instead of socks and underpants.), but I have to clean the house, sort out my work, get the cat's stuff ready for her "sitter", wrap birthday gifts for my niece, make sure I don't have any lip gloss in my purse that the airport will deem as terror in a tube, AND now I have to waste half the day AGAIN getting all the gorramn toner out of my hair. -_-;

We leave tomorrow at an ungodly hour for the airport. I get such travel anxiety before actually going. Once I'm on the plane, I'm fine but it's the packing, etc. that gives me agida. I'm not liking the idea of leaving the cat for a week after the poor thing just getting out of quarantine but she's in good hands with snow's mum, so I'm not going to worry too much. She'll probably just sleep or invite all those tailess manx cats over for wild cat parties.

I better get crackin' if I'm going to get anything done... Wish us luck and I hope everyone has a great weekend!

PS... Snow did in fact carve the o_O pumpkin. He even sketched it out first (which we're saving). I'm so proud :D
