Seriously... I'm in a worm hole. Photon torpedos Number one!
There are cob webs all up in this mo fo ^_^ *dusts with the UK version of Pledge (lemon scented)*
I put in something old to listen to (DJ Premier - Cornerstone mixtape 47) since the last time I blogged was probably a hundered years ago when that was released. I'm not sure what happened, or why I stopped writing here. Life got the best of me in the best way I guess. It's nice to take a break sometimes. I know I still have a fan who cares (my mom) so, I figured I'd get on the ball and write some happenings.
A lot has happened. I'm not married yet, but I painted a bathroom and moved all the furniture in the house so, I'm practically married. I've never really been too keen on that whole dress/happy crying business anyway. We'll figure out where/when someday soon. When you played the long distance game as long as snow and I did... you really just appreciate every day that isn't complicated by having to talk into an iSight(tm). The world works itself out when you let it.. which tastes as good as the fortune cookie it's written on.
I used to review movies and stuff on here. I don't know that I can catch up with everything so maybe I'll just start now with a few exceptions. Mainly gadgets. I got some new ones that I really think are neat:
iDeck for my baby iPod Photo
These are neat. I have had the iPod and it's been almost like a second beating heart to me since that Christmas. The only issue I had was the headphone thing gets old and plugging in to a rig while you're playing FFXI means you can't change tracks. I lived with it for aeons and thought it was about time to "nest" and get it a proper set of speakers. These were relatively cheap, easy to set up (I will note that I DID install a system in my old V-double yoo Golf by myself... with woofie, amp and soldered wires proper style... so when I say easy install, I mean my cat could do it if taunted with food). They sound good for little speakers... really good. Most any iPod can hook up to it and well... it does have a nice boom-bip for all those house parties I never have :D
xbox 360
Snow cried a little when we left the US after staying at my sister's house. He missed my Bro-in-law and even more devastating... he missed his xbox. I finally got tired of seeing his big, round kitten eyes every time we went into the game stores so... we hit the ATM and then hit the street with our fancy-lad new system. I beat Tomb Raider (whatever version was new for 360... Tomb Raider: Lost Bra Sizes in Sarutabaruta I think). Good game... A bit short, but fun.
The best story about this featured gadget is the ability to talk and play with folks online. Since we both missed my sister, her hubby and their wee Peep (just started Kindergarten), we got online. Apparently this almost 6 year old gal follows in her auntie's footsteps and is GOOD at Dead or Alive. So good... she challenged her Aunt and Uncle and well... I can't say whether she won or lost since snow will cry himself to sleep... but he got schooled kindergarten sty-lee. \o/
So... snow has been spending a lot of time hitting zombies with a nerf gun in a mall or pretending to be a gangsta. Nothing quite like smoking pimps and wrangling ho's to wind you down after a long day at work.
I can't say much about movies really... I've watched a bunch. I did however, watch Garden State last night just because it was on TV and the soundtrack alone makes it have quite high replay value. I don't like the airport scene because I lived that airport scene except I actually had to go... But we basically lived the extended version of that film I guess. If you haven't watched it, please do.
I guess I should also give at least, a nice condensed version of what life has been dealing me lately. I moved to the island, found true love... the kind even the best movies can't seem to get the actors to portray. Our life is good. I can't say it's perfect, but life is not supposed to be. Some big things happened though recently...
Snow's sister Kat left for university a couple weeks ago. We packed up the french hatchback and put it on a boat to head for Scotland. I always wanted to see Scotland, just not that way... I know it'll be great for her there since the town is amazing, but we really miss her around here. I have no "back" and have to make fun of snow all by myself now. She was my only friend on this island... besides snow of course, but you know what I mean. I hate change when things start getting comfortable, but I DO love change when it forces your life to really move where it's supposed to move.
That same weekend we finally were able to collect my long lost (second) love... Athena, my sidekick in nothing but her fuzzy britches. Before I left on my new life adventure, I had to put my cat on a cargo plane in the underbelly of the seedy philadelphia international airport. Second to leaving snow at the airport.... this was the hardest thing I ever had to do. To bring her with me here, she had to be in a six month quarantine. She cost us more than a teenage child with legal problems... but worth every pence (that's me being UK'ish... I take a lot of heat 'round these parts for saying "dollars"). I worried she would forget me, that she wouldn't be the same. It made my sleeping schedule imposible some nights thinking about it. But, there she was.
I saw her face and she saw mine for the first time in six months. Her eyes knew me and her almost ghetto-loud meow instantly calmed my fears that she had not forgotten her "mom". We dragged her across the sea on a boat with curious british folk wondering what was sleeping so soundly in that large plastic cage with obnixious orange stickers reading "live animal" plastered on the top. We brought her home... and this place for the first time, really felt like home.
Side note here that's funny... people and animals inherit nick names over the years. Athena became Athener which became Theen which rhymed with Bean and eventually became Beaner. Then after calling her this all these years (she's no spring chicken, like myself), I watched the Carlos Mencia show.(funny show)... where he lovingly refers to others of his decent as "Beaners". So, I'm trying to train myself to not call her that since she's not latino haha!
I guess that's a good enough recap as any. I forgot somehow that I actually have things to write and more important that I really enjoy writing. Writing about life and shit is good for the brain as well as being a good excuse to listen to music you have forgotten. I switched the Premier with Data 80, changed the dial to Tiesto and ended up on Unkle - Reconstructions... which seems appropriate for me trying to fix up this blog. I've been known to say some things in here I can't say properly in real life to my real people since maybe they are too far away, or I just write better than I talk. So... I'm going to try and write again. Maybe the people I miss so much across the sea can feel closer to me and feel like they are right along side of me. (If only I could get them to help with dishes somehow though the power of blog?)
My family, my new family here... just know that all of you are always right here along side of me. And remember that Aunt Naku, Sister Naku, Daughter Naku, Girlfriend Naku, In-Law Naku, Friend Naku is always there... but in a better costume of course since I know karate and I'm not really cut out for the side-kick role :D
one love <3

Noooo. ::checks pulse:: Am I alive?
Nice to see you back. I thought the internet needed winding up again. Clearly it was just dusty.

Welcome back to the internets. Hope IOM is OK. Always freaked me out a bit, though that could have been my relatives rather than the place. Say Hi to the faries under the bridge for me.
Also, prod snow for me - tell him to swing by #weebl one afternoon and say hi.
