I hope Verizon™ gets taken over by Satan himself and run into the ground.... oh wait, demons already run it.

Yep, the title pretty much sums it up. I had DSL in my place which was fine and all. Except the 27 or so odd times it went down or they screwed up my billing and was offline for at least a day at a time. >:C This time, it was personal. Weird outage in PA and after 4 phone calls and finally speaking to a manager... I was told they couldn't get anyone out to look at my line until Friday.

DICK: Ok. I want you to look at the back of the modem. There is a black wire plugged into it. Unplug it and wait 15 seconds then plug it back in.
ME: I did that twice before calling you. The magical unplug trick isn't going to cut it this time. I take computers apart and put them back together... I know a thing or two and this is a line issue.
DICK: (obviously reading their little 'this is what you say to the idiots that call' paragraph on his screen) I want you to try to unplug the router, wait 15 seconds and plug it back in. That solves 99% of the problems like this.
ME: I am speaking english right? Hello, hello. Yes, still on english. I did reboot it twice already. Can't you check to see what's going on? Test the line or something?
DICK: Yeah, let me do that.

(long pause while he goes to get a soda and make fun of me while I'm on hold)

DICK: Yep, looks like there's an outage. Nothing I can do to help you byebyetheanksforcallingverizonsuckah
*click.... dead air*

Do you know what naku does when she's toyed with in such a way? Well, I get my ass to the Comcast office and sign up for *shiver* cable again and get my shiny new cable modem. Fsck Verizon DSL... fsck them in the ass and then slap them around a bit and call them fat. Bastard, clown-shoe company. /new jersey

I posted some nice musical things on little gamers So here I will post some other fun findings.

Comedy! I've been addicted to getting stand up albums and listening to them in the morning since Howard Stern isn't on this week? Not sure if he's on vacation or he's done? I like to hear people talking in the morning. Preferably funny people that make the dread morning not seem quite so bad. Makes it seem less lonely and the cat just stares at me in the morning with sleepy, cute eyes.

Dane Cook - Harmful if Swallowed
He is the best thing on stage since Mitch Hedberg (who is another one of my all time favorites). I think I'm going to get his DVDs with christmas gift card thingies. He makes me smile so very much. He's got some seriously funny clips on his website as well so you should check it out. He talked about Tekken :') He's one dude I'd like to like.. go bowling with someday. Even though I do not bowl, I'd try.

Eugene Mirnam
A friend just told me about this dude. He tours with indie rock bands so I guess that automatically makes him cool right?

David Cross - The Pride is Back & Shut Up you Fucking Baby
I'm a big fan of Mr. Show more because of David than Bob (sorry Bob... wait he won't read this). He's just an all around funny dude. His religious material is enough to bring tears to your eyes. Both those shows are fantastic.

That's all I have.. take care y0!

I have Comcast over here in NJ. It sucks. But it is the fastest there is. They treat customers the same way as Verizion. I've had 10+ converstaions like that. The best thing to do is just wait it out. Or get all 8 of your neighbors to call. That works too.

I hate how Comcast doesn't upgrade all their old customers with the new ones. I am one of the original cable internet members, and I don't get that nifty website and email, the new webcam thing or whatever. I have one of the crappy original modems too. It even goes back to digital cable, I've never been offered DVR or anything like that.

Gehy.

Peace out Naku! - Mark

if I may make a recommendation...Ron White and Larry the Cable Guy. They both rock. Their humor should be right up your alley, too. :P
